At WMEC West Midlands Education Centre, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn, progress and feel confident in their education.
Based in Birmingham, we have been supporting students and families for many years, providing friendly, professional educational support tailored to the individual. With 25 years of experience and a team of fully qualified teachers, we understand that no two children learn in exactly the same way.
We work with students to help them prepare for the 11+, build their understanding, and develop their skills under the guidance of experienced, qualified teachers.
For us, it isn't simply about working towards an exam. We want the children we teach to feel more confident in their own abilities and comfortable asking for help when they need it.
We are SEN specialists, with experience supporting children and young people with autism and ADHD.
What works well for one student may not work for another, which is why we take the time to understand their needs, how they learn and where they may need additional support.
Our approach is patient, understanding and personal. We want children to feel comfortable with us and to feel that they have people they can talk to who genuinely understand the challenges they may be facing.
As WMEC has grown, so has the support we can offer families.
Alongside our educational services, we provide an Education, Health and Care Plan advisory service. We know that EHCPs and the processes surrounding additional educational support can sometimes feel difficult to navigate, particularly when you are unsure where to begin or what the next step should be.
